Happy Half birthday!

Weight: 16.7 lbs Height: 26.5 inches

This is the face that I get to hang with on a daily basis & I am loving every minute of it!

I seriously can't believe how fast the last 6 months have gone, and to tell you the truth I had a little break down this month... I had originally signed you up for part-time care starting when you were 7 months old(i wanted to wait until after you had a flu shot). The time flew and March was coming much faster than I had wanted it to. So your daddy and I have decided that it would be best for you not to go to school yet, and I will continue to stay home and play/mother/ and hang with my favorite little guy ever! We are very lucky daddy has a good job and this is a choice for us.

Now that you are six months old you are acting so much more like a little man. You are into everything..and I mean everything! You are not as satisfied with the same options all the time anymore to stay entertained. We have brought out many new toys and you are thrilled with them. You seem to gravitate towards anything that makes noise and the louder the better! :) Your favorite is still you exersaucer, but you also really like your move and groove music table. Your alligator xylophone is a big hit too!

You are grabbing not only for toys, but for people.. You will reach out for me(if I am not holding you) but you also are reaching for other people too...This makes me smile when you reach for me- i don't think i can get enough!

You have begun to really watch what is on the TV. Your aunt B. bought you the whole baby Einstein video collection, but it seems you would rather watch Big Bird sings Karaoke...You love that video...it is like baby crack :) i can get some things done around the house because of this video.

You are SO big i just can't believe it! At 6 months you are:

Sitting up on your own,

standing(holding onto things,people, or furniture)

Talking ALL the time (dadadada..is your favorite- i don't think you know this is the beginning of daddy.. i think they are just easy sounds to say).

You go to sleep on your own, and sleep on your stomach.

You love to eat

No teeth yet, but i am sure they are around the corner - you drool like crazy!

You love it when the neighbors kids come over, i think you are going to be a social bug.

You are the best thing that happen to me!

I love you so much it hurts!

Mommy!

living room makeover

So, our house has mostly all been updated but for some reason my husband and I keep coming up with "projects" around the house. This past Tuesday night we were sitting in the living room watching TV and I decided I wanted to paint the wall around the fireplace different than the rest of the room. When we bought our house every room was painted builders tan, which I love, but tan in every room was a bit much. So, slowly we have added some color into the house. I had a quart of red paint and decided to go for it! Now that it is done I absolutely LOVE it. So glad we got off our buts and just started painting... well I did the taping and my husband did the painting. Now today I have to move everything out of this room for we love it so much we are now moving the furniture around and hopefully will use this room more often. ( well, we have been using this room more since Owen was born, but now it will be more comfortable :) )

So that's whats been going on here, between playgroups, naps, cooking dinner, watching the playoffs, snuggling, and taking pictures of Owen.
I will add pictures of the living room later... but until then here is a picture of my little man!

Oh me oh my... I can't believe it! Owen will be 5 months this week

FIVE MONTHS! Buddy boy you are growing so fast! I just can't take it... Your mommy needs you to slow down just a bit....

We have been so busy this past month with the holidays and traveling, and you have just gone with the flow - which has been nice. You are SO laid back and must have gotten that from your daddy, because mommy doesn't handle change as well.

You have REALLY discovered how to play his past month, and that is a god thing because you received so many toys for Christmas that you are going to have a lot of playing to do. You are interested in EVERYTHING, and reach for anything that gets close. You love playing with mommy and daddy's blackberries, and I'm sure you would like one of your own.. Maybe in a few years :).
I am sure you are close to 16lbs, and 26-27 inches tall - you are wearing 3-6 months clothing for the most part, but you need 6-12 or 9 month PJ's because they have feet and you are so long.

You have started eating food and LOVE it! We have gone through all the stage one foods, and you like them all... but pears, peaches, and bananas are your favorite. We have started on stage 2 foods and you just gobble them up... I'm beginning to think you just like to eat - just like your mommy and daddy. I am still nursing you about 3-4 times a day and you take a few bottles also. You just LOVE to eat!

Over the past month we had visitors here for Christmas (Aunt Brennan and Grandmother Jane) and we traveled South for New Years. You do very well in the car and sleep most of the way. You like it best when I sit with you in the back, and I try to make you happy, so sitting in the back has become what I do when driving anywhere of any distance.

You are sitting somewhat... you will last a short while if you have no support, leaning on your hands and such, but in a chair of on the sofa you are a pro at sitting.

You are beginning to push yourself along on your tummy, and this scares me so much! I am not ready for a mobile baby.

You drool ALL the time and I have to change your outfit 2 - 3 times everyday. So I think teeth are right around the corner...

You seem to change everyday, and I am loving every minute of it! I can't believe you are so close to your 1/2 birthday!

love you more each day buddy!

Who ever knew 4 months could go so fast?

So I am having a hard time blogging.... Trying to find things to write about??
But not today... nope! It's the 7th.... so that means Owen is FOUR months today :)!

I have said and know I will continue to say it but the past four months have flown! Why did four months seem so long when I was pregnant?

So Mr. Owen Dean.... Four Months you say? You seem bigger than ever!

This past month we traveled back to NC for your first Thanksgiving... not such a big deal to you this year, but next you will have a blast tasting all the yummy treats that everyone makes for this special holiday.
You did get to meet your cousin Les, who is 6 weeks younger than you. (I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a picture of you two together.)

You are turning into your own little person each day... starting to have a preference of what you do and when... I think its cute right now, but I am sure one day I might not think it's so cute.

You are sitting up some, you get tired and fall over so its good if you have something to lean on, but you can totally sit with your dad and watch TV... and yes you already seem to LOVE TV... it fascinates you.
You can roll both ways... but seem to forget how to roll from tummy to your back sometimes and get really frustrated... rolling from your tummy - well lets just say have that down pat. You have decided that you are a stomach sleeper rolling over as soon as i put you in your crib, i used to roll you back over but it never seemed to last very long before you were back on your tummy.. so I have given in. I still place you on your back (because that's what "they" say is best). You are sleeping full nights with no problem and your daddy and I are so proud of you!
You are talking up a storm and even love to sing along with music when daddy and mommy have the radio on or a CD... Music totally calms you down in the car when you have just about had enough riding around.
We are so excited for the next few weeks that are approaching.... You are going to have your very first Christmas... and we are going to have some visitors for the holidays!
Your stocking is hung, you have sat on Santa's lap and you already have presents under the tree.. I just can't wait to celebrate your first Christmas!

Owen.... you light up my life!
With Love,
Mommy

I will update with height and weight after our DR visit..
You are wearing 3, 3-6, & 6 month clothing and even some 6-9 PJ's...
